Attorney Christopher “Chris” D. Jones is a principal shareholder of Griffin, Dawsey, DePaola & Jones, P.C., a general practice law firm that has been proudly serving Bradford, Susquehanna, Sullivan, Wyoming, and Tioga counties for over 60 years.  Chris was admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania in 1999 and to the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania in 2000.  He is a graduate of the University of Scranton and the Duquesne University School of Law.

Chris litigates cases and represents clients in Real Estate, Wills & Estates, Family Law, Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, Corporate & Business Law, Collections & Bankruptcy.

Chris is also well versed in Oil and Gas law and litigation.  Chris represents landowners in all issues dealing with natural gas development, including lease negotiations, property rights, breach of contract actions, and royalty rights.  Chris has provided testimony to the Pennsylvania Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and the Pennsylvania House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee regarding the  numerous  issues  that  clients  are  faced  with  regarding  their  royalties and improper deductions.  Currently Chris is involved with litigation representing hundreds of royalty owners against the gas companies for the improper deduction of royalties.

In addition,  Chris is the solicitor of  area  municipalities and  is  the  appointed  guardian for multiple individuals who reside in nursing home facilities that do not have any living relatives.

In the community, Chris currently serves on the Bradford County Bar Association Executive Committee, Athens Little League Board, Northern Tier Counseling Board, and the Athens Sayre Lions Club.  Previously he served on the Tioga Point Museum Board, Bradford County YMCA Board, Central Bradford County Chamber of Commerce, and the PS Bank Advisory Board.

Chris is a lifelong resident of Bradford County.  He resides in Athens with his wife, Katie, and their three sons. Chris has a strong commitment to his family and community.  He enjoys coaching youth sports and spending time outdoors with family and friends, hunting and fishing.
